Caterpillar engines. Because
your time on the water is precious.
When you take time off to
kick up a bit of wake, you deserve engines that work hard.
Engines that respond. Engines that crank out exhilarating
power. Caterpillar have spent decades designing, building,
delivering and supporting reliable marine diesel engines
for pleasure craft and megayachts. So whether your boat
is 30 feet or 330 feet (9-100 meters), when you're ready
for fun, Cat engines are ready to run.

Caterpillar. The very
definition of the diesel advantage.
Gas engines are fine for smaller
boats that dont get too far from shore. But
if youre serious about offshore fishing or long
distance cruising in boats over 30 ft. (9.1 m), you
want diesel engines. They offer a number of advantages
over gas, including greater durability, power, efficiency,
resale value and safer fuel.
Caterpillar sells more marine diesel
engines over 200 bhp (150 bkW) than any other manufacturer
in the world. We think the reason for this is that
since 1935 we have invested heavily in research and
development to improve upon the natural advantages
of diesel power. New engines are continuously being
developed. Existing models are improved and updated
to take advantage of new materials, new technologies
like electronic control and new information accumulated
from real-world operating experience. So when the
International Maritime Organization IMO announced
new marine engine emissions regulations for the year
2000, Caterpillar had the knowledge and experience
to quickly make their engines IMO compliant while
minimizing potential performance impacts.

Choosing Caterpillar means choosing from seven engine
families with power ratings from 210 to 9655 bhp (157
to 7200 bkW). Weight-to-power ratios as low as 3.78
lbs./hp. Seven high-performance models featuring state-of-the-art
electronic control. A five year warranty for non-revenue
producing boats. Ultimately, theres a set of
Cat® marine diesel engines designed to help you
achieve secure excitement. And all meet IMO NOx emissions
standards.
