Cathelco Ltd are world leaders
in the design and manufacture of marine pipework anti-fouling
and corrosion suppression systems with more than 7,500 installations
on craft of every type.
Systems for luxury
yachts and cruisers are designed with miniaturised control
panels and anodes to be compact and easy to install. Their
effectiveness has been proven globally in Mediterranean,
Caribbean and Pacific waters where mussel and barnacle growth
can cause serious blockages in engine cooling systems.
Corrintec, a division
of the British based Cathelco Group, are known internationally
for their expertise in corrosion protection. Using the latest
technology, they have developed impressed current cathodic
protection (ICCP) systems to protect steel and aluminium
hulls as well as water jet ducts.
LEVIATHAN MARINE can provide immediate
advice on the CATHELCO systems which are best suited to
protect your particular craft.

Minitek
lCCP Systems by Corrintec
Corrosion protection
for steel hulled luxury yachts and cruisers
The Minitek System has been specifically
designed by Corrintec to provide effective and economical
hull corrosion protection for luxury yachts.
An impressed current cathodic protection
(ICCP) system has many advantages in comparison with
the use of traditional sacrificial anodes. There is
no need to change the Minitek anodes at each dry docking
so maintenance costs are significantly reduced.
In operation, Minitek automatically
adjusts the level of output to the anodes resulting
in continuous, precisely controlled protection at
all times. Also, the anodes are flush mounted to the
hull considerably reducing weight and drag, therefore
enhancing performance and fuel economy.
Together, this means that Minitek
offers superior protection at an affordable price,
whilst eliminating corrosion and ongoing maintenance
costs.
- Compact, lightweight control
panel for easy installation in confined spaces.
- Flush mounted anodes - reduce
weight and drag - giving fuel savings.
- Automatic operation - virtually
no maintenance required.
- Assured protection against bi-metallic
corrosion.
- Microprocessor controlled and
operated.
- Systems available in 10amp, 20amp
and 40amp designs.
- Supplied with flush mounted anodes
and reference electrodes.
- Can be run from yacht's battery
supply.

Alutek lCCP Systems by Corrintec

Corrosion protection
for steel hulled luxury yachts and cruisers
The Alutek system provides aluminium
hulled craft with an automatic, finely controlled
ICCP system to prevent corrosion.
Aluminium is generally regarded
as a stable material which does not corrode easily.
However, when it used in conjunction with other metals
such as bronze propellers and steel components, serious
problems of hull corrosion can arise.
Until now, sacrificial anodes have
been used as a remedy, but these need to be renewed
at regular intervals and have the disadvantage of
adding weight and 'drag' to the craft.
With its advanced control panel
and array of flush mounted anodes and sensors, Alutek
accurately monitors the hull condition to provide
the optimum level of protection.
- Automatic system - provides optimum
protection at all times
- Requires far less maintenance
than sacrificial systems.
- Lightweight, flush mounted anodes
to reduce 'drag'.
- Compact power unit using switchmode
technology.
- Demands minimum attention from
crew.

Jettek ICCP Systems to Protect Waterjet Propulsion
Systems

Jettek ICCP Systems
to Protect Waterjet Propulsion Systems
Waterjet propulsion units are being
increasingly used on the larger types of luxury yachts.
In these systems the water intake and transom areas
are particularly vulnerable to corrosion pitting which
can weaken the tunnel which operates under heavy mechanical
stress.
With their strong background of
technical expertise, Corrintec have designed the Jettek
system, a unique and highly effective impressed current
cathodic protection ICCP package. This has major advantages
in comparison with sacrificial anodes which may not
deliver sufficient protection to the waterjet intake
ducts in order to eliminate corrosion. It is also
more effective than methods primarily based on 'isolation',
although Corrintec can provide sophisticated monitoring
devices for any type of system.
- Provides continuous corrosion
protection for waterjet intake ducts.
- Modular switch-mode power unit.
- Flush mounted anodes and electrodes
to reduce turbulence and provide longer life.
- Built-in safety features to prevent
'over protection'.
- Reduces inspection and maintenance
time.
- Quantifiable cost savings over
life of yacht.

Reliable pipework protection for craft from 20 - 70ft
Would you like to
provide your craft with the best protection against
marine growth blockages in seawater pipework?
Cathelco have specifically designed
the system for luxury yachts and cruisers in the 20ft
- 70ft range. The system uses the latest technology,
but applies principles which have proved effective
on more than 7,500 leisure and commercial craft around
the world.
The technical breakthrough has been
in miniaturising the control panel and anodes so that
they can be easily and economically installed in areas
where space is limited. Here are some of the advantages
of fitting it on your craft:-
- Ultra-compact pipework anti-fouling
system to protect seawater engine cooling lines
and ancillary equipment from bio-fouling.
- Anodes are available with integral
cathodes and can be fitted to stainless steel, brass
or plastic strainers to protect any type of pipework.
- Miniaturised control panel with
digital displays showing output to anodes.
- Can be powered from the craft's
battery supply. Automatically senses any d.c. voltage
between 12V and 24V.
Safe and environmentally friendly in comparison
with chemical based systems.

Pipework anti-fouling/corrosion suppression systems
for luxury yachts of more than 70ft
Would you like to
provide your craft with the best protection against
marine growth blockages in seawater pipework?
Some of the most prestigious luxury
yachts in the world are fitted with Cathelco systems.
They have become the choice of owners and captains
because of their long record of effectiveness and
reliability in eliminating blockages in engine cooling
systems caused by mussels and barnacles.
The units can be fitted solely to
provide anti-fouling protection, but also as dual
purpose systems offering the advantage of corrosion
suppression within pipework. Each system is designed
by Cathelco to the requirements of customer's individual
craft.
Today, many systems are installed
at newbuilding, but there is the option of retrofitting
them. Either way, they will provide continuous protection,
whilst running automatically and demanding minimal
attention from your crew.
Compact system to protect seawater
engine cooling lines and ancillary equipment from
bio-fouling and reduce corrosion in pipes and coolers.
Anodes are available with integral
cathodes and can be fitted to stainless steel, brass
or plastic strainers to protect any type of pipework.
Control panel with digital displays showing output
to anodes.
- Built-in alarms and current reduction
facilities.
- Can be powered from the craft's
battery supply. Automatically senses any d.c. voltage
between 12V and 24V or 110/220V a.c.
- Safe and environmentally friendly
in comparison with chemical based systems.
